Radon Testing Services

Radon is a radioactive gas. You can't see, smell, hear, or taste radon gas. It comes from the natural decay of uranium that is found in nearly all soils. It typically moves up through the ground to the air above and into your home through cracks and other holes in the foundation. Your home traps radon inside, where it can build up. Any home may have a radon problem. This means new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without basements.

The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. High radon levels exist in every state in the US. In Minnesota, one in three homes (1/3) has radon levels that pose a significant health risk. In the map above, orange means a moderate potential and red is the highest potential for radon gas (map information available here). Testing is the only way to know if radon is a problem in your home. Testing is inexpensive and easy. Radon reduction systems do work and are not too costly.

Techtron Engineering can provide Radon Measurement (detection/testing) using an Alpha II Continuous Radon Monitor.
